Sailing Weekend 2009
Imagine blue velvet water, suggestive landscapes and a lot of fun...it is not a dream! This is what the lucky participants of the Sailing Weekend 2009 experienced on the 22-24th May thanks to the organisation of the SDA Bocconi Sailing Club.
This year the event took place at "Le Cinque Terre", an amazing and colorful area which was the residence of artists and poets such as Lord Byron. The sailing route has been around the Islands and the beautiful small bays within the Gulf of Poets, giving participants the opportunity to discover this suggestive area and its culinary delights.
The crew was composed by 103 people, 13 boats, 56 current students (34 from MBA 2009, 22 from other SDA Bocconi Masters), 25 AMSDA alumni and 22 guests. The 3 days program has offered participants the chance to refresh or learn some mariners tricks, get tanned, swim and have a great time together, both on the boat and offshore. Saturday night a great dancing party with gala dinner gave everyone the chance to celebrate all night long! Finally, on Sunday, after spending the whole day sailing around "Le Cinque Terre" and enjoying this beautiful area, the boats returned to Bocca di Magra sea port and checked out.
The event turned out to be a success and a great opportunity to share common passion for sailing, meet old mates, get to know new people and network.
Entrepreneur Club: be the "Captain" of your Enterprise!
Spring arrived on 24th March for the SDA Bocconi Entrepreneur Club along with the organisation of the first event of this year, focused on two hot topics for the young entrepreneurs: "Entrepreneurial Opportunities Available to Master Students in SDA Bocconi" and "What to Expect of the Entrepreneurial and Consulting Projects for MBA´s".
The discussion has been enriched by the presence of three SDA Bocconi Alumni , Ashanka Sen (IT Service Captain), Luca Scampoli (Family Business Captain) and Benvolio Panzarella (Winner of Business Plan Competition and 1st President of Entrepreneur Club), that shared with the students their experiences, in particular what it meant for them to undertake an Entrepreneurship project during their master program, how that effected their professional career, the job perspectives and how it feels to be the "Captain" of your own Enterprise. The event represented a precious moment for the students to give a boost to their initiative spirit and to network.
Moreover, on 14th May the whole entrepreneur community gathered for the great "Entrepreneur Day", where five international leading entrepreneurs from diverse industries shared with the students some useful start-up tips and trick: on how to start a personal business, how ideas come to light and which are some typical challenges to face.
