Learning Model

The Global Executive MBA is delivered through a variety of learning platforms.

The learning platform of the Global Executive MBA aims to make full use of each participant's time by combining traditional lectures, case studies, group projects and business simulations with a variety of distance-learning sessions. Over the course of the 20-month program, participants will attend 10 on-campus modules for a total of 55 classroom days and take part in over 100 distance-learning sessions. The final result reflects Bocconi spirit, which encourages a vibrant exchange of ideas through practical analyses and criticisms in order to foster a sense of belonging.

The curriculum is rigorous but also flexible, rich in theory but also practical enough to be a test at the workplace, and the Program allows participants to have close contact with professionals from the most varied of business sectors.

Evaluation process

In each module, participants will be initially assessed on a Pass/Fail basis. The primary objective of the initial evaluation is to check that participants have acquired the necessary competencies in each subject. If a participant is granted a passing grade, then he/she will receive a final mark (A, B, C or D) distributed on a learning curve. If a participant receives three failing grades, they will be required to withdraw from the Program. This rigorous evaluation process is in place, for we believe it preserves the value of the Program and quality of each individual's experience.
Regular attendance at on-campus modules and distance-learning sessions for the duration of the two-year Program is mandatory and an absence of any significant length will make it impossible to complete the Program successfully.

Coaching Services

Coaching Services are made available to participants during the second year of the program. The service is set through individual meetings with counselors or expert coaches. It aims to support the personal and professional development of the Executive MBA participants. The focus is placed on the analysis of the students' profile and interpersonal, emotional and organizational skills, as well as on career orientation within and outside their company.

The Degree

By the end of the Global Executive MBA Program, participants are awarded the SDA Bocconi degree of "Executive Master of Business Administration".
